3. How long will it take to obtain permanent residence for your foreign relative??

As a U.S. Citizen sponsoring a spouse, parent, or child, your relative is not subject to the wait period that other relatives are. These relatives are placed in a category known as immediate relatives. For this category, there are not limits placed on their entry and the preference system does not apply. Because there are no limits, this group’s immigration process is expedited. It can still, however, take up to several months for an I-130 petition to be approved by the USCIS. It is important to properly file the petition by making sure everything is correctly completed and all the necessary supporting documentation is provided. Our firm will represent you through the process by properly completing all the paperwork required so that your relative can may have the ultimate benefit of ultimate resident status.
